Our Practice
Dr. Richard V. SimonDr. R.V. Simon graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology. He then attended Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee where he received his doctorate of Optometry and was included in the "Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities". Dr. Simon began his practice in 1971 in Edmond. He was a member of Rotary Club and was active in the Chamber of Commerce. He is a member of The American Optometric Association, Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians, and the Edmond Church of Christ. In 2009, Dr. Simon received the Edmond Sun "Best Eye Doctor" Award. He is the father of four children, Mark, Raquel, Angel and Scott, and six grandchildren. He and his wife Lois will celebrate their forty seventh anniversary this year. Dr. Simon is an avid reader and enjoys running and video gaming. He is a huge fan of Oklahoma football and the Thunder. It has been his pleasure to care for so many patients and friends for all of these years, and looks forward to the years to come. |
Dr. V. Raquel StrangeDr. Raquel Strange is a proud alumnus of Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry where she graduated Summa Cum Laude in 1998. She is a member of the AOA, the Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians, Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society, Edmond Women's Club, and the American Diabetes Association. She was the recipient of several awards in school including the Clinical Excellence Award, Contact Lens Achievement Award, Triad Ocular Disease Award, and Outstanding NSUCO Research Project. She received the Dennis Kennedy O.D. Excellence in Eye Care Award from TLC in 2006. She served on the City of Edmond Capital Projects and Financing Task Force from 2002-2004, and has sat on several local professional advisory panels. Raquel is passionate about people and loves living and working in Edmond. She considers it a blessing to be in a profession that allows her to help patients improve the quality of their lives. She uses every opportunity to better educate patients on their diagnosis and encourage active involvement in their health care. Raquel is the daughter of Dr. R.V. and Lois Simon. Her husband Steve practices dentistry in his office next door. They have two children, Bailey and Ethan. They enjoy traveling to various horse shows, sporting events, and concerts. She is an avid reader of everything from fiction to current events, and likes to always shop in Edmond first. |
Lois SimonLois Simon graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree from Oklahoma State University and taught elementary school for ten years, including five years at Will Rogers Elementary in Edmond. During that time, she received her Masters degree from the University of Central Oklahoma and became a reading specialist. Lois has helped her family in their practice as a certified optician for thirty-six years. Her particular interest is working with contact lenses. Lois is the mother of four children and has six grandchildren. Her husband and family have always been the center of her life. She is an avid reader and sports fan. She enjoys cooking Lebanese food for her family and going on cruises. Lois is a member of the Edmond Church of Christ and has been a member of Edmond Women's Club since it was established. She loves Edmond and the people living here. |
Carole BeckCarole Beck has been with Sight To See for over 36 years and has watched it grow with Edmond. She loves working with people and has made many friends at the office over the years. She is passionate about incorporating unique and fashion forward frames into the inventory and believes that eyewear can create a statement as well as serve its function for improving vision. Carole is currently available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, to assist patients in frame styling, fitting and lens selection. When she is away from the office, Carole is very active at Classen Boulevard Baptist Church, where she enjoys singing and is involved with numerous areas of mission work. |
Rose Marie McDanielRose Marie McDaniel has been an optometric assistant for 32 years. She has been here at Sight To See for the last 17 years. Though she has done everything from contact lens fitting to working the optical, she is currently at the front desk and patient pre-testing. It has been very interesting and challenging at times, but it has become a lifetime career. Rose Marie is married and has a daughter, a son, and three grandchildren who keep her busy. She enjoys quilting in her spare time. When she isn't busy at work or home, she enjoys going to estate sales and shopping with her two sisters. |
Shannon BryantShannon Bryant has been working in optical for over 20 years and has been with Sight To See for over 5 years. She works with contact lenses as well as frame and lens selection. Shannon is originally from Texas, and moved to Oklahoma in 2006. She has 2 "kids", her cat (Camo) and her little dog (Honey). She enjoys reading, movies, and making delicious cakes and candies for all of the Sight To See crew to enjoy. She is a huge UT fan, but Dr. Simon trys not to hold that against her. |
Mary BurgerMary Burger began at Sight To See in 1993. She took a few years off to help her husband open a restaurant then returned in 2008. She is very versatile, and you may see her working the front desk, pre-testing a patient, assisting in the contact lens area or helping in the frame dispensary. Mary and her husband Bobby have 3 children and 1 granddaughter. She is an active member of St. Monica Catholic Church. When away from work, Mary enjoys going to the lake with family and friends. |
Vicki McAlisterVicki McAlister has been a dispensing optician for 3 years and is enthusiastic about her position at Sight To See. She strives to help patients carefully select and properly fit the right eyeglasses to allow them to both see better and look better. Her goal is to provide each person the assistance and attention to detail they deserve. She understands that in today's economy new eyeglasses can be a major purchase and every patient is important to her. Vicki is a devoted wife and mother of two daughters and one grandson. She is an active member of First Baptist Church of Moore. Her passion is in the missionary field and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She enjoys traveling and spending time with friends and family. |
Becky SpadeaBecky Spadea joined Sight To See in March of 2011. She moved to Oklahoma in 2006 having worked in optical in Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and California. Becky has extensive experience as a lab optician, dispensing and frame selections, frame buying, doctor's assistant, and as a business and office manager. She has a degree in communications from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Becky is married with two children and two dogs. She attends Henderson Hills Baptist Church. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, hiking, and spending time with her family. |
